Welcome

The Wilson County Government GIS / Mapping Office was first established in 1980. We use a complex and intelligent mapping system called a Geographic Information System, or GIS.

Map Layers

A GIS organizes maps in sections called layers. Each layer contains information about something specific such as utility lines, streets, parcels, topography, etc. Layers can be added together to create a map document that contains valuable information.

All of these layers together assist the county in making better decisions, maintaining important data and providing easy access to information.

The online map has the ability to print any map from the web map onto a 8.5 x 11 map. A help document has also been added to the site for additional convenience.

  • For larger map formats please call or email before coming to acquire the maps. In most cases we can have the maps completed before your arrival.
  • GIS is able to email any map format to a customer.
  • For new addresses, click E911 Address Application  or call GIS and one will be emailed to you that can be returned either via mail or email to our office.

We are more than happy to answer any questions via phone call or email that a GIS user may have about our online mapping system.
